2007 Granite State Elite Policies

Granite State Elite Lacrosse’s program is referred to as “GSE” and is a private club.  Membership on this team is by invitation only and players must try out and renew yearly.  Prior membership on GSE does not guarantee future membership.

The purpose of GSE is to provide top-level training and opportunities for exposure for those athletes whose goal it is to compete at the highest levels while in middle school thru high school, and eventually to play at the collegiate level. GSE participates in the best tournaments in the country, which includes tournaments that are premiere recruiting showcases for colleges. This allows players to compete against the best players from other areas of the country and to showcase their ability and skill while having fun and developing higher-level lacrosse skills.

GSE is a member of the Galaxy Lacrosse League (www.galaxylacrosse.com) a league formed by the countries top lacrosse clubs. GSE has already sent numerous players to Division I, II & III college programs and is known by college coaches across the nation.

GSE is dedicated to excellence in lacrosse and sportsmanship, and expects players to conduct themselves as examples to all. All players must conduct themselves accordingly or they may be dismissed from the team at the sole discretion of the Director. The Director of Lacrosse maintains exclusive decision-making authority over all GSE activities and operations including, but not limited to, coaching appointments, player evaluation and assignment, league placements, public relations, finances, and player and/or family member conduct, behavior and disciplinary action.

All players are expected to attend all practices. If a player cannot make a practice for a certain reason, contact must be made to their team coordinator at least one day prior. Missing multiple practices without a legitimate excuse could affect a player’s ability to enter into certain tournaments.

Parents are required to defer to the GSE Directors for all decisions regarding the players, and how they are to be coached. Those parents, who wish to become more involved in the program, please don’t hesitate to contact us and let us know.

US Lacrosse Membership: Each player is required to be a member of US Lacrosse. Go to www.uslacrosse.org to become a member or renew your membership.

GSE is a commitment and not a recreational program.

Tournament Policies:

Tournament dates and registration forms will be available on the website. At that time, all players will be instructed to put in their requests. Tournament fees must be paid in full by May 1st, 2007.

All travel and accommodation expenses for tournaments are the responsibility of the player’s family. Information regarding directions to tournaments, hotels, and player waivers are available on our schedule page.  As these tournaments fill up quickly, obtaining lodging at a date close to the tournament will be very difficult.

For tournament participation, player placement on teams is the sole decision of the coaches. It will be based on team needs and players performance, NOT on requests or parental input. Rosters and game schedules will be available the week of the tournament.

Players should arrive at the field for tournaments 45 minutes before their first scheduled game and 30 minutes before each subsequent game. They should be in full uniform and prepared to warm up at that time. Being on time is the PLAYERS responsibility – not the parents. If this rule is not adhered to, the player will lose playing time for that game.

All players will be given an opportunity to play close to the same amount. Time played will be at the discretion of the coach. Positioning, strategy and all other executive decisions will be determined by the coach.  Each year, GSE attends tournaments of a wide variety of competition levels. Whereas the goal of some tournaments is purely fun, participation and exposure, others include a championship format. At these more competitive tournaments, it benefits the entire GSE program for our teams to perform well. In those situations, playing time will be determined with the focus on winning.

Players are discouraged from joining or committing to other club lacrosse programs that interfere with their participation in GSE.  If GSE is attending a given tournament, our players who are interested in attending that tournament must play on the GSE roster.

Fees and Refund policy:

Membership is paid annually and is the same for all players. Full payment must be made by January 15, 2007.  Since player registration holds a spot on the roster, no refunds will be made for any reason after February 1st. The Membership fee pays for all summer practices and GSE expenses for the year (Galaxy fees, awards, web sites, etc). Payment will ensure membership with the club until January of 2008.

Tournament fees, uniform and travel expenses are separate from the annual membership fee.  Our uniform includes a GSE jersey and shorts. Uniform fee is due with registration.

Amount of tournament entry fees will vary.  They are based on roster number requirements and amount being charged by tournament directors.

Once an entry fee is paid, it will not be refunded FOR ANY REASON (this includes change of family plans, player injury, or illness). GSE, tournament, league, facility rental expenses are pre-paid in advance. In addition, entry fees will not be credited to pay for a future tournament. Our rosters are submitted and coaches assigned based on the number of players who sign up.  Inability for us to field a team that we have submitted threatens our participation at future tournaments!

GSE will keep records of all transactions. However, parents are encouraged to do so as well. There will be a charge of $25.00 for returned checks.
